GAH.
School starting tmr and I havent finished my hw? Crap, thanks to my supergenius brain for the idea to come back to sch to take my hw on wed, when i was absent... ok initially i thought during the weekends i could do my hw so that i dont have to struggle during the weekdays but OHMYGOOSH, i still have to fill up this Methodist Walk card which i totally couldnt be bothered cos the long weekends are just so lovely that i have to slackslackslack.... but then again. its an anuual thing and my dad said that the money will go back to my own sch, which is true. but aiyo, im still sick la DEYYY. so another brilliant of mine, i asked my dad to donate, WHOO.
so he was like, " here's 32 bucks and fill it up with whatever names you can think of." wah superdad. Now i dont have to go around my house estate to collect donation? (: so like i wrote down my family members' names inlcuding my cat's. haha. cool.
Dr William Tan Challenge is really soon and my lovely MGS friends pls pls pls come and participate! You know I wonder how he can do it, like just go around the track for 24hrs non-stop. Wont he die? i know i would if i were to do it, for sure. but then he has gone around the continents for not sure how many days but he completed countless marathons!!!
wah im so amazed.
Thanks Daphne for the very encouraging heart-shaped letter you made for me! I JUSTJUSTJUST read it and right, Daphne. the handwriting is so yours ... :D
Whens Nationals this yr? When I hear the word Nationals i will freak out and be motivated to run well in the next trg but when the feeling is kept for too long, it will just float by in my mind.
And crossies, your Go Izati, you can do it! somehow isnt working for me anymore unfortunately, cos like im immuned to it la.
My first and last true race before Nationals is on 14 Feb and from now till then, I have to buck up and be at my peak.

Dear Principal/Church Committee
Love with a Cause
Born to a poverty-stricken family in 1957, Dr William Tan contracted polio at the age of two and became paralyzed waist down. Dr Tan, a brain scientist and medical doctor, is best known for his fund-raising efforts through wheelchair ultra marathons such as the GRAND SLAM world marathons. Over the last 18 years, he has helped raised more than S$18 million for various charity organizations. From being a preschool drop-out to a holder of a first-class honors degree in Physiology, Dr Tan channels his heart, mind and body into building a better world for the less fortunate in our society. Dr Tan is an accomplished sportsman and has raced across the world, struggled through the icy terrain of the Antarctic, and braved all manner of challenges to raise funds for numerous causes, such as in aid of polio-stricken patients, the disabled from Singapore’s Global Flying Hospitals and leukemia research.
In a valiant attempt to raise funds for children’s Cancer Research at NUS, Dr William Tan has volunteered his time, effort and strength to pull a cart around the track at Methodist Girls’ School (MGS). Dr Tan has also pledged to donate to “Grow-a-Seed Fund” at MGS. This 24-hour event held on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 of February, needs YOUR help to make the event a success. By helping us inform your school/church community about this fund-raising event, you will be aiding us greatly in the publicizing of ‘Love with a Cause’. In contributing $8 per ride in the cart, students/church members will undoubtedly be contributing towards Dr Tan’s labour of love and his effort to offer a brighter future for cancer-stricken children in Singapore. For the more athletic ones, they can also cheer Dr Tan on by running or rollerblading alongside him during his rounds on the track (families are also welcomed!). And never fear-far from being a boring event, this challenge promises to be an exciting, fun-filled experience that cannot be missed. Early registration for a ride with Dr Tan is strongly advised so as to avoid any disappointment! However, walk-in participants for the cart event are also welcomed. During the day, refreshments and snacks will be sold. There will also be a promotion, of Dr Tan’s book, “No Journey Too Tough”-a moving retelling of his life story. As Friendship Day coincides with this event, a song dedication booth will be set up for all to dedicate a special song to friends, family, or even Dr Tan, to encourage him on in his journey. So please help spread the word about ‘Love with a Cause’ to all in aid of Dr Tan’s fund-raiser event!
We hope that you will celebrate “Love with a Cause” with us to support Dr William Tan in his challenge to raise funds for the Childhood Cancer Research at NUS. Should you have any inquiries, please feel free to email them to lovewithacause@gmail.com. All compilations of response slips/names of participants collected back by the school/church are required to be sent in to lovewithacause@gmail.com by Wednesday 4 February. We look forward to seeing your school/church community at ‘Love with a Cause’! Thank you for your kind support and cooperation.
Yours sincerely
